For those who are curious what madeleine is - it is a soft, French cookies; but I have consulted the Food Dictionary for better definition.

madeleine
[MAD-l-ihn, mad-LEHN]
A small, feather-light, spongy cake that is eaten like a cookie, often dipped in coffee or tea. Madeleines are baked in a special pan with scallop-shell indentations; the finished cakes take the form of the shell.

In his landmark novel Remembrance of Things Past , French novelist Marcel Proust immortalized the madeleine when he wrote, "I raised to my lips a spoonful of the cake . . . a shudder ran through my whole body and I stopped, intent upon the extraordinary changes that were taking place." Sounds as though he rather liked it.

So enjoy your Madeleines and don't forget to share this info, you have until tom to claim those precious cookies!

AyosDito.Ph: New Shoping Site Discovered - It is Really Good in Here!

If you have been reading my blog (or at least checked my archive), you would know that I love shopping and great bargains. Praises to the web developers and whoever started online shopping, we can now "web shop" (yeah, instead of windowshop!) and buy a gift, a collectible or even a car, and house and lot with just one click (or maybe two).  Although, there are some who are still little hesitant to transact online, I am just so glad that there are more and more online and trading sites available in the web today; which means, people are starting to embrace the online shopping lifestyle and it also means, there are more and more unique finds in the web.

A unique find I discovered on the net is not actually an item, but another trading site. Long time ago, I found myself typing keywords buy & sell Philippines just to look for online shops in the Philippines. So here's another site called Ayosdito.ph. Last week, I was browsing through the site and I found a nice minidress in teal color. Being the impulsive buyer that I am, I hit the Contact Advertiser button. In two days, the transaction was closed. I paid through bank deposit (for more security and safety, since this was my first transaction in the site), The following day, the dress was sent to my mailing address. The exact same dress with the exact description in the listing. I would give that shopping experience, a golden star!

Now, I am browsing yet again and found this nice "Kissable" Clutch Bag. Don't be surprised if I create another post and rave about this new purchase!

It seems that it is not a typical online trading site where most of the items listed are beauty products, clothes, or books. I think this is the best site to look for house and lot, electronics and even buy and sell used cars. Electronics listings include cameras, celphones and even desktop computers. But before you buy used desktop computers for an internet cafe (a business I once considered), it might help to know how to find cheap desktop computer.

So I am adding Ayosdito.ph in my bookmarks; and I have four browser windows opened for the site too. For those who are curious about Ayosdito.ph, go ahead and check the site. First time online buyer or seller? There is an FAQ section and tips to ensure online transaction safety. At least, there is no need for us to go to the mall and ride a bus, and worry about bomb threats. Happy Shopping!

The {F}Score: Knowing My Brand Personality

I am reading a few articles regarding blogging, and how bloggers can totally influence the minds of their readers towards products and services. I came across this site which assesses one's brand personality, and with just 28 questions, the results were laid on the table.

Alright, I have to laugh at the comment (Nicely done, you). So basically it is not just about how I write, but surprisingly, these are even applied through simple acts in our everyday lives - just like when we are dealing with clients (okay, I cannot imagine I am using LUST when I am dealing with our clients), or inviting a friend for a trip or ciggy-break.

So there are actually 7 fascination triggers: power, trust, mystique, prestige, vice, alarm, and lust. Assessing the brands, we can say that Apple (yes, the makes of iPad and iPhone) uses Power and Prestige, and maybe some other fascinations. Then, there's Victoria Secret which probably uses Lust.

They say that each trigger has different style of communication and creates different type of relationship.

Going back to my results, I just want to share what they say about my fascinations (then maybe you can tell me if the results are accurate). I have to tell you these are just not configured randomly, it took research and research to come up with these tests and results.

YOUR PRIMARY TRIGGER: LUST

So lust is your primary trigger. That means you draw people closer with a warm and open style of interaction. You’re expressive with ideas, communicate well in person, and probably have a strong creative streak. Even when you mask your emotions, you feel passionately about your opinions.

You’re intuitive with information, often making decisions based on gut instinct rather than cold intellect. While other personality types prefer facts, you’re more attuned to the nuances of attitude, design, and a certain indefinable je ne sais quoi.

Lust is a powerful form of influence because it creates irresistible messages that overcome rational resistance. When you dial up your primary trigger, you have the ability to create messages that are extremely difficult to ignore.

You’re remarkably talented in creating messages that lead to a powerful intellectual, physical, and emotional response. For instance, you like to share experiences with others, and in conversation, you draw people closer with body language and eye contact.

By applying these natural strengths to your work, you can build warmer relationships and more trusting dialogue. And by applying to your ideas, you can create messages make people say, “I want that now!”

YOUR SECONDARY TRIGGER: MYSTIQUE

If mystique is your secondary trigger, you’re intriguing. Very. You make people curious to learn more, because they want to find out what makes you tick. You reveal personal information carefully, if at all.

Mystique sparks an intense desire to know more, hinting at possibilities without putting it all on the table. By activating this trigger, you entice people to seek out more about your message.

Because you reveal so little, people might have trouble knowing what you’re thinking and feeling, which can come across as cold. You might benefit from sharing your ideas more openly, and giving people more ways to engage with you. And, along the way, you’ll want to avoid sneakiness or mind games. (A delicate balance to be sure, but once achieved, you’re nothing short of mesmerizing.)

Curious about your natural ability to make others curious? Mystique is delicate balance to be sure, but once achieved, you’re nothing short of mesmerizing.

There must be some truth on this. My readers might wonder why I am not posting any personal pictures in my blog.. Let's just say that, I just want to keep some things private.. (and maybe I would come up with a Describe the Blogger Contest come next month? Why not?).

YOUR DORMANT TRIGGER: TRUST

One thing’s for sure: You’re definitely not boring.

People who score low on trust tend to be thrilling, passionate, and intuitive. They live in the moment, and rarely plan very far in advance. As a result, they can be unpredictable, impulsive, and volatile.

Of the 7 triggers, trust is the most difficult to earn, the easiest to lose, and the most valuable to hold.

Perhaps you don’t need to sway opinion through consistency. Many people and brands, especially those unconventional few who delight in immediate gratification and avant-garde style, don’t rely on trust. However, this trigger comes with many rewards, so take a look at ways to increase trust in your message, without losing the excitement and edge of your other triggers.

Okay, so they say that trust is something that I am least likely to apply in my personality and behavior. Hmm.. Probably because I have gone through a lot of things, and learned some lessons.. and trust is something that is not easily earned. Just like in believing and patronizing brands and new products and services. But if I love the product and if I believe in them, I could forever say praises and praises everyday like a wiccan reciting a chant (take for example, my love for Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf!).

Interesting discoveries.

If you want to know your Brand Personality, check this link. Please share your results, would love to read and discover more about you.

Free Colgate Pack and Php500 for Oral Prophylaxis

If there is one thing that I wanted to change in my body, it would be my teeth.

I know, a perfect set of teeth or a sweet smile makes a person pretty and attractive eventhough she/he has flat nose, the most sleepy set of eyes and thickest lips.

My visit to the dentist is long overdue - I have to get those braces and fix the smile. But here is something for the readers to smile about - Colgate is giving away prizes (like set of toothbrush and toothpaste) just by playing a game.

Prizes:

1st Level: Toothbrush and Toothpaste (not the travel size, mind you!)

2nd Level: Toothbrush and Toothpaste plus mouthwash

3rd Level: Toothbrush and Toothpaste plus mouthwash and floss

You have to answer the set of questions correctly, one mistake = game over.

I am not certain about the rules. Not sure if just by completing Level 1 you would get your prize, since it mentioned 50th user per week. But you may try and answer the questions - it's trivia time!

Weekend at Subic and Fun Thrilling Experience at the Tree Top Adventure

Last weekend we headed to Subic to hit the beach and just to say that we had a trip for the month of January. We chose Subic because, first I have never been to Subic, second, we prefer to travel by land, and third, we wanted a budget trip this time (less airfare, and less terminal fees).

So right after work, (we work on a night shift), we headed to the Victory Liner terminal in Cubao. I had already brought my things with me and I think I was successful in my attempt to travel light. I am not used to commuting through buses, even going around the Metro, I am not very comfy riding a bus. I especially hate long drives without stop-overs. Just the thought of being so far from a restroom gives me panic attacks. Lucky that I am, we had our stop over and I was able to empty my bladder before we traveled for another 1.5 hours.

Express bus travels at 2.5 hours instead of 3.5 hours going to Olangapo.

At the Victory Liner in Olongapo, we were picked up by my friend's former coworker who happens to own his very own gas station, and whose house is as comfy as a resort house. We were like relatives visiting relatives - we were treated to a lunch (lechon manok and liempo!), we played Playstation, we were serenaded by his daughter, and we were treated like tourists who had our very own tourist guide and driver.

At around 2:00 PM, we were left at Baloy Beach area (where we paid Php30 per head for entrance) and we spent an hour looking for lodging. What we wanted, 1. nightlife (or a place where we can also people-watch)  2. beach front lodging 3. comfy beds. We considered Ocean View but the sea is a little too far from the lodging building itself. Other hotels/resorts are too private that is only for couples and honeymooners. Alot are offering cheap rates, but they do not fit our needs. There is even one resort who has a cheap available room, but the catch is that you would be sharing washrooms with other guests!

I was being too impatient with all the heat and sweat, add to the lack of sleep and caffeine. My attempt to travel light didn't help because my bag, although lighter than the usual overnight bags that I have brought, was dragging my shoulders and mood. I hate my friend for being too comfy and failed to book/reserve a room. We thought that this time of the year, the resorts were not busy, but I guess people have the same thought of hitting the beach and so everyone, including our group was there.

Until we have decided to settle at Treasure Island Resort. It some meters away from where we stopped, so my friend had to run to reserve the last two rooms available before another group does. So we were able to check in at 3:00 PM. A suite room which is at Php3,900 and a standard room at Php2,700.

There were 5 of us, so the couple occupied the standard room and the 3 of us, stayed in the suite; with one person who slept at the couch. It was her choice, anyway.

I was still mad when we got into the room, so I was not able to take pics of all the angles of the rooms. The bed is made of cement instead of wood/metal, and there is just a matress. Voila! A bed!

There is an LCD TV, and yet another TV in the living room area. Plus couches.

Hot and cold shower, with working flush. But the sink has no drainage and it "swallowed" my earrings with no warning!

Fully stocked minibar (tempting!); and a table and chairs for two.

The best part, it has veranda where you can hang your wet suits, and just smoke and people-watch!

So I don't want my bad mood to kill everyone's good mood when we checked in, so in a few minutes I was
on bikinis and we're ready to hit the beach! It may not be as good as Bora or Coron's beaches, but this is good than nothing.

The resort has a nice pool too (for washing), and dining area plus bar which is just perfect for relaxing!

At night, another coworker of my friend picked us up and brought us to Lagoon for dinner. The place offers good Filipino food, and cheap Iced Coffee (Php60). Yeah, we had enough of Starbucks in Manila.

Then, we tried the biggest tacos in Subic! Full of tasty ground beef and cheese. Best buy at Php85!

We went back to the resort to relax and try the cocktails - I have to say they serve Blow Job differently. Whipped cream on top, and not flaming, but creamy! Haha.

Blow Job at Php180! The cheapest Blow Job I know! But for some, you can get it for free. You just have to be friends with the bartender! ;)

Margarita which tasted like Lime Juice at Php120

The following morning, we hit the beach and just take a lot of pictures. It was freezing cold, there was no sun, the sand is gray and the sea waves are somewhat wild.

We had brunch at the resort. What's for eats?

Pasta - yummy sauce, but the pasta itself is a little soggy. (Php200)

Omelette with cheese! You can make your own Omelette - Ham (Php20), Ham (Php140), Cheese (Php40) plus Mushroom (Php30)

Pizza - yummy pepperoni pizza! (Php410) - good for three!

Fish Fillets - something healthy! (Php210)

Then, we just had the right time to prepare our bags and check out. There has been a little commotion when the Housekeeping insisted that we took something from the minibar - (a bottled water - 2 gulps empty). My friend was a little hysterical, (I understand. We paid a good amount of money for lodging, drinks and food - and we wouldn't skip and not pay for a bottled water). The point is we DID NOT take or drink anything from the minibar. We know too well how crazy the prices are in the minibar. Who ever is at fault? We don't know. They should have checked the minibar prior to giving the room. On our part, my friends could have checked the minibar. I did in our room - and there is no pricelist - but I have to mention, theirs is complete with water, juices, chocolate drinks, sodas and alcohol.

We asked where did she (Housekeeping) find the bottle (meaning, where in the room? table? chair? bed? washroom?). She was so ready to fight and said, sa room! The girl who was in the reception (must be a manager-trainee) just agreed to let it go, and signed a receipt. We didn't pay for the bottled water. We are willing to pay, but we are firm in saying, we didn't drink anything.

So anyway, we headed to Tree Top Adventure. Tricycle ride to the main rode (Php20), jeepney to Victory Liner station (Php7), and van service that we had contracted for Php350 (for the 5 of us, plus luggage storage in the van.

When we got to the Tree Top Adventure site, we can hear people screaming - coming from the Rappelling Free Fall post.

There was a short briefing and picture taking - then we're off to the Cashier to pay for the rides. We signed the waiver and we were ready to take the rides!

Some rides were closed due to windy weather (as they say), but I suspect this is due to lack of manpower.

What was available?

Superman (Php200) - the famous zipline

Silver Surfer (Php250) - yes, like surfing in the air. This is the most awesome ride IMO.

Tree-Drop Adventure (Php150) - that is falling in the tree at good 60-ft high, face down!

I would suggest that you take the Tree-Drop Adventure as the last ride - Superman is very secure and safe. This is just a short ride (I am still dreaming of the Danao's Zip Line which is at good 1km - in between mountains).

Here's the pic of my friends riding the zipline:

My friend's former coworker suspended, waiting to be dropped down 60-feet from the ground.

The "rides" are really cheap and the staff are very friendly, accommodating and funny! One funny remark:

Maam, kelangan magsuot ng helmet para pag bagsak, sumabog ang utak, madaling maglinis, hindi kalat!

It seems that they are really enjoying their jobs. They are so funny and witty with those banters which I think aims to make the guests feel comfy and relaxed. But you cannot relax with the thought of smashing your face on the ground despite there is a matress waiting for the next victim.

Although we have our cameras with us, we still took the printed pics of our "falls". Most expensive is Php200 per print 6x8 size with no frame. You may choose if you want with borders, but all pics come with the Tree Top Adventure logo.

They take good pics, but you have to sport your best "fall" reaction!

When we got to the photo booth, the staff were telling me I got such a good shot. When I checked, yeah, my mouth is all open and my face was stretched with tension suspended in the air, arms stretched as if I were flying. If that is their definition of good - I don't want to argue with them.

You better check out this spot and do not be left behind. If you are the type who is a neophyte in adventure, pack and go. If you want extremes, better head to Danao for the Zipline and the Plunge.

Before heading home, we dropped by PureGold Duty Free, and I took home chocolates. I wanted to buy more, but I don't want the hassle of boarding bags and carrying them all back home.

It was a fun weekend. And yes, we did something new which is the goal in every trip.  We can leave bad moods and bad vibes in the Metro!

I Cannot Enjoy My Pizza Without Tabasco, Can You?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.

I only know a few men who are not into spicy and hot food - and they somewhat turn me off. They always equate a person's preferences in spiciness and hotness to a his/her sexuality. If there is any truth on that, I have yet to find out. I personally love anything hot and spicy, and for food which are not spicy by nature, I can always thank TABASCO® Original Red

That little bottle of great spice has been a kitchen staple - like cup noddles in the cupboard and perfume in the drawer. There are lots of other hot sauce available in the market, but we always pick Tabasco. Could it be just my sensitive tastebuds, that I felt that Tabasco not just add that ziiing experience but also enhances the food flavors. It is true that it is "So Much More than Hot!" (yeah, just like how men describe their girlfriends).

Just like movie-marathons, watching sports game like football (Super Bowl soon!) is a good venue for enjoying pizza and soda (and don't forget the Tabasco!). Have you imagine taking a great bite of that slice of pizza with salami, bacon, ham, pepperoni, and lotsa of cheese - and tasting that hot kick of Tabasco (just because you haven't evenly drop the red hot potion in the pizza slice), and it is like a kick and an uppercut hititng your tongue and senses. Oftentimes, i would even get to smell the Tabasco just by taking a bite. Then you would scream and Horray when your team scores while holding that greasy slice of pizza. I could imagine such - a riot!

Like this men rejoicing!

(Credits to Super Stock for the image)

You may want to check the Game-Day Party Menu for real sports night experience.

For a more serious venues - there's always dinner dates - yes, pasta with Tabasco. Nacho nights with friends and Tabasco. Barbeque parties with Tabasco. It is always present and invited. If you want to read tips on how you can enjoy your Tabasco, check out Pizza Perfected.

Now, I am craving for pizza and I have to tell the delivery guy - additional Tabasco sachets please!

Chocolate Fire: Setting Your Chocolate Cravings on Fire

Chocolate Fire has been making a buzz with its very sexy and yummy promotional pics. We have to check out the place and get burned with lots of chocolates and sweets.

Chocolate Fire is located at the corner of Leviste and Rufino Streets in Makati. I would advise that you bring your car or take a cab when visiting the place, as it is not that accessible through public transpo.

What we had for lunch?

Pasta Bolognese at Php340. You get to choose what pasta to use - I prefer penne. Hmm.. there is nothig very special about this pasta, I have to say. I would still prefer my mom's. But yeah, don't expect too much, this is not an Italian restaurant and pasta is not their speciality.

Greek Salad at Php200. Fresh tomatoes, cucumber and lots of Feta Cheese! Love it, and it is worth the price. This is a must-try.

Iced Dark Chocolate with Vanilla Ice Cream. I chose Vanilla to compliment the dark chocolate. My friend had Iced Dark Chocolate with Chocolate Ice Cream.

The place is just perfect for intimate get-together or meetings. This is not the place "to-be-seen", if you know what I mean. But Chocolate Fire has established that profile and it is absolutely a place to check out in Makati - a little something different than the usual cafes and restos in Greenbelt.

This is a self-service restaurant - and you get to choose all the yummy chocolates that are on display in a huge counter (sorry, taking of pics at the counter is not allowed!) Interesting finds - Pringles dipped in Chocolate, chocolate tower and lots and lots of chocolates and goods! A must -try is the chocolate with chili (you can even see the seeds and bits of pepper!)

Here's the Orange Poppyseed Cake. Just the perfect balance of chocolate and orange with the crispy, rough texture in the mouth.

The service is good, and everyone is accommodating. The guard even lent us lighter (as I have forgotten mine), and he was even suggesting having our pics taken outside for better pictures (that's so .. err, nice?). There is smoking area outside but not as part of the dining. You can just go down to have a quick smoke.

Let's go to the washroom - clean with supplies (I am not sure about the men's room). But I love the artwork. Now you know where to go incase of emergency.

If you are still curious, go and check out the place and find out for yourself what is the "fire" all about!

Good Paste Equals Happy Butt: The Boudreaux's Butt Paste

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux's Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

Mothers would do anything to protect their babies and kids and ensure that they retain their smooth, rosy and glowing skin. But one thing that parents need to fight (more than stress and aging) is maintaining the smooth skin of their babies' butts.

Boudreaux's Butt Paste has the solution for mom and baby's biggest nightmare. If there is one thing that moms and pregnant women should include on their wish list is this wonder product which is formulated by a pharmacist with direction from a respected pediatrician to provide effective diaper rash care.

I once gave a tub of this wonder paste to a friend who had just a baby. It may not be the biggest gift like a crib or grandest like a surprised baby shower, but it does give wonders to baby's butt - that we-ooh-so-love-to-kiss!

Unlike any other pastes, it has a pleasant scent and can be easily applied. A tub of butt paste should be kept at the bedside table, but a handy tube in flip top cover should always be inside the diaper bag (yes, it is available in travel sizes too!).

For those who are concerned about its chemical composition, it only contains 16% Zinc Oxide.

Here's a treat to my readers in the US, check their website at Boudreaux's Butt Paste and get a FREE SAMPLE!

I guess I am not the only one raving about this wonder product. This has been featured in different shows like Oprah Show, ESPN and While You Were Out TLC.

If you find it a little too hard to click the link, here's the trick, just type butt paste in Google and the first result would route you to the site. Think popular!

The Animax Video Game Awards 2010

Yes, awards are not just about Grammy's for music enthusiasts, and not just Oscars for best actress and actors, and absolutely not just about Blog Awards for bloggers.

There is such a thing as Video Game Awards. Some 25 years ago, Super Mario Bros may have won the Game of the Year, but advancement of technology allowed us to control the joystick and controllers other than the left, right, up and down directions.

I was able to watch the Animax Video Game Awards 2010 - and I was impressed with the opening number with special participation of Neil Patrick Harris (yes, Mr. Doggie Howser!) - and he was on stage not to treat people, rather to "mistreat the dancers". Don't miss out on the opening number!

I am sure it is a tough decision to choose the winners for the special awards (there were alot!). Some interesting categories are Best Performance by a Human Female and Best Performance by a Human Male. Of course, like in movies and TV Series, there is always Best Soundtrack category. For complete listing, check it here.

The awards night was highlighted with electrifying performance by My Chemical Romance, transforming the venue into a video game playground with blinking lights and graphics.

The show also features appearances by Chris Hemsworth,Michael Chilklis, and Dominic Monaghan.

I don't want to spoil the excitement and announcement (I am not in my best gown/cocktail dress to announce the winners), you better catch the TV Telecast of the Animax Video Game Awards 2010 next week. For updates, check out the Animax Facebook Page.

And, please.. turn off the PSP, Xbox and any gaming console when watching the TV Telecast. If I may say, the show is PG - yes, although it focuses on Gaming Awards, you might want to guide your kids when watching the shows. Lots of "bleep" "bleep". ;)

If you are asking me if they are legit. My answer is YES. I have already bought some vouchers from these sites, and I had redeemed them. Just always present your ID in the establishment when using the vouchers. And always call for reservation especially if availing of salon and spa services.

BUT, I would advise that you call the featured merchant first before buying the deal. We have heard of the horror stories of the groupon deals and we don't want you to be on tomorrow's headline ;)

Enjoy!

If you know other Groupons or Group Buying Sites, let me know.
