Loving the Basics: Forever21 and Wetseal

I still haven't visited the Forever21 store in Megamall since it has opened. Glad that the Forever21 Facebook page is updating it's followers with the "new arrivals" every week (suddenly I have thought of ukay-ukay! Haha).

Love browsing through the album and listing in my mind the clothes that I wanted to buy. Although I feel that most of the stuff they sell in www.forever21.com is more chic and stylish, it is still good that there are some nice pieces being offered in the store.

Another reason for checking the album is for plain monitoring if the items I have recently bought would be available in the store. I am actually being a little impatient about my online purchases and it is taking a long while for it to arrive. Anyway, I was browsing through the Part 7 album and I have thought I have found a fish in the sea of new arrivals.

Here's a basic tee in mustard that I am wearing at this very moment!

I got it for only $6 online (now I wonder how much the basic tees cost) last year. This is actually one of my favorites! I love basics!

I was always on the hunt for the perfect basic tees in the Metro but I couldn't find one. Most of the shirts sold in the local brands are either too small or too short. Being tall that I am, I don't want to wear baby tees. Although TopShop does sell nice basic tees, I was still not very happy with its material. It was a total risk when I hoarded basic tees from Forever21 - not knowing if they would would, would shrink, or would tear. But I am just glad that they are just perfect! Who cares if the tag says it is made in China, or Maldives?! The most important thing is that it fits! Perfectly.

The material is stretch - not to thin to see your underwear, and not too thick to make you sweat. The shirt hugs the body perfectly giving you a sexy silhouette.

So why do I love basics?!

1. I can wear it and pair with any bottoms anytime. Can be skirt, short or jeans.
2. People wouldn't notice much if you wear it again and again.
3. It can easily worn with any accessories! Think of nice necklaces!
4. Easy to wash and I should say - wash and wear.

Another store I would recommend for buying basic tees is WetSeal. Check out www.wetseal.com. The site now ships worldwide and even shows prices in Peso (Php)!

Happy Shopping!

Payless Shoe Store Opening in Manila July 30, 2010

Yes, it is confirmed! Payless Shoe Store which is very popular in the US for selling shoes at reasonable prices is opening it's first store in Festival Mall, Alabang this Friday, July 30, 2010. Too bad, the pilot store is too far from my place.

I have read somewhere that the pricing would be the same - cheaper! And even cheaper since the stocks will be coming from the origins and not from the US. Prices start at Php800 for basics like flats and Php2,000 up for boots. Designer shoes would range from P2,950 to P3,250. Wow!

I almost ordered some nice shoes from www.payless.com and I am just glad I did not. I just hope the local store will carry big sizes.

From the site, this one is on sale at $19.99.

I know there would be a Payless Phenom this week. Ladies from South, get ready to ramble!!!

Bonifacio Global City: Listed on Itinerary

Bonifacio Global City is always part of the itinerary whenever members of the family would come home in Manila (all of my siblings work and live in other countries and I am the only one living here with my parents).

I love everything about the Bonifacio Global City. Who would have thought that we have such a decent, nice and peaceful place in the city? Admit it, if you have not been in the area and you see pictures of your friends taken in the classy Bonifacio High Street, you would think that the pictures were taken in another country, like in the US or Singapore.

I felt proud when my Balikbayan sister told me that the neighborhood in BGC reminds her of their home in the US. Thank you for making me feel the American neighborhood. Now at least, we can say that Manila or Philippines is not just about pollution, snatchers and jaywalking.

The long strip of stores in Bonifacio High Street gives a different shopping atmosphere; and the selection of restaurants, cafes and bars in Serendra makes you love the place even more. What's interesting about the BGC is that it also reserved a place for those who love the usual turo-turo and food court set-up which is very Filipino. My sister (and her hubby and in-laws) who has been in the US for 10 years admired and loved the Market! Market! They found turon, kakanin, inihaw and ukoy, and other Filipino dishes in Market! Market! - everything that they planned to eat on their 2 week vacation in Manila. A taste of this, and a slice of that and they were all satisfied.

When my brother came to visit Manila on a different occassion, we also brought him to BGC and treated him to an all-Filipino buffet at Kamay Kainan.

We know how much Balikbayans miss and love the Filipino Food! So it was a treat to eat the crisp tilapia, kare-kare, ginataan and dirty ice ream for dessert! We are almost ready to raise one leg up the seat, and ditch the spoon and fork to enjoy a truly Filipino style of eating. Maybe it is just always nice to eat together with your family.

Then of course, if you think of a good meal, you always think of Conti's. A slice of Mango Bravo for a real dessert treat.

A reunion or Balikbayan is not necessary to visit the Bonifacio Global City. Although it is kilometers away from my home or office, there is always a reason to come back and enjoy the lights, the sound and the atmosphere. But enjoying the beauty of BGC is more meaningful if spent with your family (plus you get your meal free - thanks to Mom and Dad!) ;)

Shopping Destination and Shopping List (Forever21)

It's been a while the last time I bought something online. I still have not visited the Forever21 store in Megamall but I do check the releases every once in a while. Now I have a new list of to-buys..

I need a clutch/shoulder bag in cream to go with my cream shoes. I think I would like this one.. and also that black clutch with chain straps!

As my friend told me, I love anything with kulot-kulot! True! I looove ruched tops and dresses. So this one, I like!!! Is that a dress or a top? I am pretty sure it would end up as a top again - being tall that I am!

Now this is another interesting cream bag.. and the black clutch too! Love the seam details!

And here is a dress which resembles the dress I have bought in H&M.

I am soo itching to see my purchases from Forever21 online site (see my post at Forever 21 is Opening in Manila on July 2nd! But I Can't Wait No More, I Ordered Online!!!!). My friend told me it would arrive sometime in August. I know this is punishment, but that is the sacrifice I have to make just to get free shipment of items in Manila. Haha.

I just hope that Forever21 Facebook Page would post the items' prices so that people would get an idea how much to set aside when monthly salaries are released!

Freebies Alert: Free Oreos and Shampoo Sample

These are not new freebie links but for those who always ask for the links. Please check out below:

Free Oreos from 7-Eleven
www.shareoreo.com

Although I am not very pleased with the last promotion of 7-Eleven for a free gulp cup during the May 2010 election, you guys may want to consider this freebie (at your own risk! haha). I heard that there are some outlets which are not aware of the promo (which is always the case for 7-Eleven). Staff would even call the Head Office to confirm. How humiliating it is to beg for a pack of free Oreos? Just wish that there are no people behind you waiting to be assisted..

Anyway, just register to the site and print the email notification. Present to the designated 7-Eleven store and claim your Free Oreos. If the printing of the notification would cost you more than Php10, then might as well just buy a pack than avail of this promo. Hehe.

Free Shampoo Samples
http://www.mysteryshampoo.com/

I have learned that this is a product of P&G, and although it says it is a mystery, the bottle shape and packaging would tell you it is Pantene! That's good 90ml each for conditioner and shampoo. Not bad (although I still love the Free Sunsilk Sample). Just register and refer your friends. The sample would be delivered to your mailing address.

Enjoy!

My Prize MyWatch Has Finally Arrived!

Remember the online contest I have posted last month, and guess what, I won! I won!

When I got home Tuesday morning from a short grocery trip, I found a 2Go package sitting in the living room table as received by my dad. I didn't order anything online, so I am certain this is the prize that I have been waiting for (Gossip Gehl even advised on her blog that the package is already on transit)!.

I am sooo excited to open it! People know how much I looove watches and I am not disappointed! As suggested by friends, I chose this white watch which can be worn casually.

The material is light-weight and very neat. I super love it! Exact opposite of the usual bangle or bracelet type watches I wear.

MyWatch is proudly Philippine-made. Now that's another reason to be proud of being a Filipino!

Thank you Gossip Gehl/Maver for the wonderful contest! Thank you MyWatch for this limited edition watch, and thank you 2Go for delivering my prize as mint as it is!

If you want your own MyWatch, please visit the MyWatch store at the Archaeology, 2nd floor of Power Plant Mall.

iNetVideo.com - They Don't Just Sell Entertainment, They Mean It!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of iNetVideo. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you ever remember the time when you would patiently tune in to your favorite TV channel, would wish that your favorite movie would be shown, and you would smartly record it in the old school Betamax.

Thank you to iNetVideo.com, this is no longer a common scenario in the household (yes, some people still do record movies and programs using VHS!). The company has been in the business since 1999 and it just not sell DVD, HD DVD and blu-ray movies; but also includes games and music CDs. The site also offers BoxSets for movies and games.

I checked the site and I am welcomed with great deals such as $5 CD deals and shipping discounts (yes, even the prices are cheap, the site is even lowering the products prices with its great deals). The DVDs are categorized which makes it easy for the customer to look for whatever movie, game or music CD he/she wants to add on her cart. There is Japanimation, Instructional (which houses DVDs for cooking, dances, etc) and other  usual categories. Gaming consoles' games are also categorized and easily located on the left navigation panel of the page.

Please ping the Online Help (yes, there is an online support) if you need information on the products you want to buy. What's more exciting is that the store now ships worldwide (please read the exceptions).

You may also want to visit the blog at http://blog.inetvideo.com. They do give away Blu-ray Player monthly!

Another Blog

I came from hospitality industry and people might raise their eyebrows if I say that I am passionate about customer service. Well, I am.

I used to work in a coffee shop and more than performing my daily job, my biggest fulfillment is making people happy. That's why it makes me sad, frustrated and mad whenever I experience unacceptable service.

I thought of publishing another blog which posts talk about my everyday experiences regarding companies' service. Not to put anyone into a bad light, but just so I could release my frustrations - and so people would be inspired to do better.

I am so ready to click on Create A New Blog..

Let's Meet Up at Meetlocals.com

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of MeetLocals.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

Internet has replaced the usual bar and coffee shop set-up when meeting a potential guy (or girl) for a date. Thank you to technology and internet. We can "shop" for potential dates, or lover in the comforts of our home. Scan pictures, flirt, get to know each other and share interests with just a few clicks while enjoying your favorite snack in pajamas.

Although I am currently not searching for a date at this point, it is interesting to know that companies are designing more and more sites to cater to single ladies and gents who are looking for partners. I came across these new dating sites called Shop4Guys.com and Meetlocals.com which from what I heard, known celebrities are members of (as evident on their Twitter updates). Wow, how nice it is to intereact with a celebrity, what more, to actually go out with one? A pleasant surprise would be if Robert Pattinson would meet up with me as he happens to be a member of Meetlocals.com! Now, I can dream..

We can honestly say that because of the anonymity and lack of actual interaction, there is still a danger that the people who we are interacting with online are not their real selves, or some may be projecting a different persona than who they really are. But the good thing is that, online dating sites help us filter the people who we would want to go out with. Imagine how easy it is go offline and ignore someone online; than to make up a story just to escape a really bad date.

Visit my sponsor: All the single ladies (and men)...

Congratulations to XB GenSan! 1st Show Time Grand Champ!

The first time I saw the group (if i remember it right, they were a repeater, and all of them were shouting "Gen San!" when dancing).

I am just soo happy they won the title! The group deserved it!

Congrats!

... and Clap! Clap! Clap! for Anne Curtis' opening performance!

Grills and Sizzles Breakfast Buffet

I was too sick yesterday when I got home from work. I slept for 5 hours then another 11 hours that I had no time update my blog.

Wednesday morning we had breakfast at Grills and Sizzles at Examiner, Quezon City. That's where I took the couples (friends and their hubbys/bf's) for a breakfast despedida for a friend who is transferring to a new work site. I am just soo glad that they were not disappointed.

Php140 is sooo sulit for a breakfast buffet. So what's on the buffet table?

Fried Rice
Butter
Pandesal
Salted Eggs
Scrambled Egg with Tomatoes
Beef Strips
Tocino
Tuyo
Arroz Caldo
Champorado
Churos with choco syrup (served in shot glasses)
Fruit medley (served in shot glasses)
Banana-flavored Pichi Pichi

I love eating at this place because the place offers the cheapest price for breakfast buffets. Plus, the Champorado is to die for! The best champorado I have ever tasted (beats my mom! Sorry mom, I love you but I have to state the fact :))

They offer different breakfast set everyday but the Champorado is always present! (based on my dining experience). From the Grills and Sizzle's multiply site:

Our popular Breakfast Buffet is a spread of bread and butter, garlic rice, salted eggs, scrambled eggs, dried fish, 2 viands for the day, champorado, arrozcaldo, fruit shots and desserts of the day. Viand choices are hungarian sausage, bacon, beef tapa, chicken or pork tocino, longganisa, bangus, tuna. Sweets may include pancakes, churros, maja blanca, biko. Come and start your day right with a hearty breakfast!

Breakfast buffet is served from 6:30AM to 10:30AM. Please be at the doors at 6:30AM as the place gets crowded at around 7:00AM!

Not-So-Famous Bowl (My Version of KFC's Famous Bowl)

Last week, my friend and I ordered the Famous Bowl from KFC, and we were surprised with its new serving size! I was once got addicted to it when it was first launched, that I ordered everyday until my stomach aches.

Php60 for like a spoonful of mashed potato topped with breaded chicken and gravy is not enough for my big appetite. So this morning, I played chef and made my own version of the Famous Bowl.

What do we need?

  • Chicken Breast (ordered just 1/4 k from Supermarket) - seasoned with salt, pepper and calamansi juice
  • Instant Mashed Potato (bought from Supermarket - the big box costs around Php300 plus)
  • Instant Gravy (around Php15)
  • Chicken Breading (costs around Php15)
  • Cooking Oil (from the cupboard)
  • Grated Cheese (from ref - costs around Php30/bar)
  • Corn (you can buy the one in cans but this one I did not include on this dish, can't find one in the cupboard!)

For the Mashed Potato, we also need milk, water, salt and butter.

Notice that everything is "instant" here. Yup, I am no expert, might as well go with anything "instant"!

Step by step:

1. Coat marinated chicken with chicken breading and deep fry.
2. While waiting for the chicken, prepare the Mashed Potato per the carton instructions. You need a microwave for this. Set aside.

3. Prepare the gravy (1 tbsp of water = 1 tbsp of gravy powder). Stir and dissolve the powder until it boils and thickens.

4. When the chicken is ready, we are ready to assemble. Scoop Mashed Potato and pour gravy. Top with chicken pops and grated cheese. Enjoy!

I did a little math and costing for this and the batch I have prepared would cost around Php110. That is for 3 servings (the same size as KFC's!), so that is Php36.66 per serving. Of course, when doing the costing for each dish, only take the cost of the ingredients you have used for such recipe (take only the cost per 1 cup if you have only used 1 cup). If you have plans of selling this dish, you wouldn't want to charge your customers for the whole price of the ingredient even if you have only used 1 tsp for such recipe. ;)

As for the time in preparing this dish.. hmm.. I remember starting with the chicken just when KC Concepcion has called Diet Ocampo in the Simply KC show. I finished almost the same time when the show was showing its program credits. Give me some mercy, I did two batches, so I can safely say - prep time is around 20 minutes.

Eating time is less than 5 minutes. Burp.

Do you like this post? Do you like this recipe? Please share your thoughts in the Comment Box below.

Pizza Hut Palm Card or Shakey's Pizzanatic Super Card?

My Pizza Hut Palm Card is nearing its expiration date (August 2010), and I have thought of getting a new one. But Shakey's has the same discount card which they call Pizzanatic Super Card which gives me second thoughts on buying another Palm Card.

Let me do a little comparison..

The Pizza Hut Palm Card costs Php379. Buy any regular or family size pizza plus Pepsi (either 2 liters or 1.5 liters) and get the pizza of the month for FREE. Usually the free pizza would be Hawaiian or Pepperoni. By experience, they can only give 5 free pizza for 5 orders. The free pizza is not applicable for dine-in transactions but cardholder can take 10% off the total bill. Card is valid for 6 months.

The Shakey's Pizzanatic Super Card on the other hand is only Php299. Buy one pizza and drinks and get another pizza for Free on deliveries. Cardholders also receive 10% discount on cash and credit card transactions, for non-promo items eaten at any Shakey's restaurants. Aside from that, the card also serves as a rewards card. For every Php100 purchase, cardholder is entitled to 1 point and the points can be used as cash for the next transaction. The best part is that cardholders can get a FREE Large Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza on his/her birthday. Plus, the card is valid for 1 year! (Like, like!)

If there is one good reason why would I buy a new card, it is because we love ordering pizzas in the office, and getting a free pizza for every pizza ordered is so worth the amount that I have paid for for the card. For the past six months, I have gotten sick of Pizza Hut and Yellow Cab's offerings, which gives Shakey's Pizza points ahead on this battle.

Actually, I wonder why I worry about these things. I should talk to my manager and ask her to include discount cards on her team budget. I wonder which card she would choose?!

Is Social Media a Fad?! Socialnomics Now Playing..

I have been a netizen for more than 10 years. Yes, I have been using internet for almost 10 years. I may be one of the few lucky people (or should I say, unfortunate) who got to experience connecting through a dial-up connection. I used to chat in mIRC, and I even had an ICQ account.

Watch this interesting video and get to know more about interesting facts on how people's lives (and internet) have changed because of Social Media/Social Networking.

Interesting, huh?

Vivani Premium Organic Chocolate - Like! Like! Like!

I am nursing a flu and colds, and thank God because it is weekend. I have to deal with headache and sneeze and coughs at my room. I am just hoping that the paracetamol can help me not file a Sick Leave tomorrow.

You know how parents would tell you that chocolates are bad for colds; but I cannot help myself and I have to grab the Vivani Premium chocolate I have bought from Taste (Hong Kong). It says that it is an organic chocolate, which at least makes me less guilty.

Organic as they say, the product is produced with a little difference from the traditional chocolates that we used to eat when we were younger. Vivani claims that they do not use genetically manipulated soy beans and raw cane sugar which resulted to a more "chocolaty" taste. I have to agree.

I only get to taste this flavor (Dark Chocolate filled with Cassis) and I really like! Love the blackcurrant cream flavor with every bite (and every square!). I have bought it at HK$28 (around Php170) - now that's cheap. I should have hoarded and brought them all home in Manila.

My friend did buy all the flavors available in the Taste counter, but I had to stop myself from adding all the varieties in my cart as I worry I would not like this product. But I do!

Hong Kong is not listed in the directory but we were able to buy from Taste in the City Outlet Mall. I did check the site but the item is not yet available in Manila. Does anyone know?

Sweet Inspirations, Katipunan: Buffet Breakfast and a Lasagna Story

I just had breakfast with colleagues this morning and it was my first time to dine in at Sweet Inspirations in Katipunan.

The team is craving for a buffet breakfast but I had to pass on this since my stomach was already complaining with all the oil, fat, salt and sugar I have eaten the night before. I have decided to try the Lasagna (Php125) and although it is not the best that I have tasted, at least it is not a disappointment. The funny thing was when I asked the waiter how big is a single serving. He then told me it is as big as the boat plate (gesturing with his hand). I then told him I am not asking for the plate size, but for the actual pasta/lasagna - he then said, "as big as this" (drawing a square on his palm!). I asked him thrice for the actual serving size but he had never given me the answer or comparison that I am expecting. I just then ordered to find it out myself. The pasta is not that creamy (or saucy), but I can say - meat-filled (and yes it comes with a garlic bread).

There is also a set menu for the same price (Php125) for half serving of Lasagna, Iced Tea and slice of Chocolate Mousse.

Although I have not tried the buffet breakfast, with my friends' recommendation, I know that the offerings are worth the money. So what's on the buffet table?

Kakanin like bibingka and puto bumbong (yes, they do serve puto bumbong even without the Christmas Carols!).
Daing na bangus (which is always present in any buffet breakfast offering)
Sunny side-up
Fried rice
Longganisa
Adobo
Beefsteak
Arroz Caldo
Fresh Fruits for dessert

The best part of the deal is that it comes with a bottomless Iced Tea. The price is only Php170/head.

To cap the meal, we ordered a slice of Mango Cream Pie (Php41) and Chocolate Mousse (Php55). Took me a while to decide which cake to order. The cake display is sooo big that I wanted to try every cake on display. There is Banana Cream Pie, Mango Cream Pie, Blueberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Torte, Chocolate Mousse, Sans Rival and other chocolate cakes. The Mango Cream Pie is a must-try!

Check out the Sweet Inspirations website and menu here.

HongKong DisneyLand Auditions in Manila

Have you ever dreamed of being part of a musical show? And I am not just talking about regular school or inter-baragay shows. Imagine dancing and singing with Mickey, Minnie, the princesses (and even the frog prince!) and the DisneyLand friends!

I was so amazed when we watched the Disney on Ice show last year. My sister and I were talking about how talented the artists are. We even praised the Asian guy who presented different characters.

I envy those artists who have the talent, the voice, the grace and flair and passion for shows. Now, Filipinos do not need to upload their videos in Youtube.com to be discovered. The famous song writer, Ryan Cayabyab will hold an audition for professional performers for HongKong DisneyLand.

Schedule is as follows:

Singing Auditions
The Music School of Ryan Cayabyab
July 17, 10:30 AM

Dancers Auditions
Halili-Cruz School of Ballet
July 18, 10:OO AM

Please visit the Music School of Ryan Cayabyab website for pre-registration. You may also call 637-9840 and 914-5055 or contact the audition management team at (0917) 834-0424 and auditionsmanila@gmail.com.

Now, you should practice - ".. wish I could be part of your world.."

Ramblers Way Has a Way in Making Wool Apparel

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Ramblers Way. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you ever worn a shirt, cardigan or a scarf made of wool? Can you imagine the sheep (or a flock of them) hugging your body while wearing such piece of clothing? Have you ever seen someone wearing a piece of clothing made of wool, and at the back of your mind - you feel itchy, heavy and hot. That is the typical sensation one can imagine when wearing something which is made of wool.

But thank you to Ramblers Way, as this company has a way of producing camisoles, shirts and even briefs which are made of wool designed in a different way to produce soft items. As they put it, next-to-skin apparel.

The WINDspun technology that Ramblers Way garments undergo offers the smoothest, most luxurious wool yarn in the marketplace. The result is an ultra-light line of worsted wool garments warm that both keep you warm but which also breathe naturally, resulting in a year-round product. As wool products are expensive, Ramblers Way pieces may even be considered as an investment.

Additionally, the Ramblers Way garments are not pre-washed with chlorine in the typical super-wash procedure that most companies use; but instead, a patented enzyme treatment is used in order to prevent shrinkage and keep the garments fully washable. The American community should have been proud of this company and product as Ramblers Way garments are all natural and chemical-free. Now that is not just caring for the consumers; but caring for the environment too.

Check out the Ramblers Way website and see for yourself that there is really a way.

Rainy Days Are Coming!

Out with the sun dresses, sunglasses and flip flops. Let's raid our closets and wear something to keep us warm in this rainy cold weather. Don't forget to bring umbrella and wear your boots. Rainy days are here in the Metro. Arrgh.. I wish I were still a student and could still enjoy class suspension. But everyday, should I say every night, I have to battle the traffic and wind to get to work and meet the deadlines.

100DollarDream.com: Your Dream is A Bid Away!

Tops, dresses, mobile phones, bags and accessories. These are the things that I have bought online through bidding from a popular auction site.

How nice it is to bid for a more extravagant things like a car or a dream vacation? Visit 100DollarDreams.com and bid for your dreams. The site will launch on July 12, 2010 with the aim of giving its registered members a different experience of bidding and winning.

Promote new Website

The site works in a way that auction is only open for a limited bidders. The admission for each auction is not more than $100. Every Friday nights, the site will launch an auction for big-ticket prizes. The most exciting part is that every bidder is only alloted with 20 bids. If you have used up all the 20 bids, you are out of the auction and you can say goodbye to the most coveted item. Now, strategy and wit should come together when bidding.

What I like about the site is that registered bidders' names would appear in the screen and this way, you would know how many others are bidding and how much they are willing to throw away to win the auction.

Fair rules, fair game. Now, who's bidding?

Chuvaness.com's Crazy (Lotto-like) Contest!

If you have not heard about www.chuvaness.com's online contest at least by yesterday, where were you?!

Per the contest rule, all Filipino residents can join the contest and wait for the stats meter to show 8,888,888. If you were the unique visitor who have gotten such figure, you should have gotten a screenshot of the meter site and should have sent it to Chuvaness.

I was soo excited about this contest, that I have totally forgotten to blog about it. Why people are so crazy about it?! Check her site and see the prizes at stakes - the grand prize winner will get a luggage full of prizes such as laptop, other cool stuff, gift certificates, and more gift certificates! As in a lot of prizes!!!

Evening at the office, my co-worker and I were checking the site and calculating what time it would end. She even thought of staying late in the office just to capture the site meter. By the time I got home, I have totally forgotten about the contest (I had breakfast with my friends and got home around 11:30AM).

When my memory hits me I had to log in and check the site, I ran wild to my bedroom and turned on the pc, lucky that I was, the contest is still on.

For this contest, I even did a game plan. I slept and kept my pc running, putting it on Sleep mode. I even set my alarm so that I would know what time to wake up to check the site stats. I checked at 2PM.. 6PM.. 8PM.. and 10PM (I think - I was so sleepy to even check the time) that's when I decided to stay focused. I kept on refreshing the site, and I know any minute it would hit the 8,888,888 count. In less than 5 minutes, it did! - and I missed it by 2!

I have gotten 8,888,890! Arrrgh!!! I hope there are still consolation prizes for those who almost made it (gc's would be fine!)

Just the same, the contest was fun! Congratulations to the winners (I heard there were valid entries received)! Chuvaness.com rocks!

Smingle.com: Perfect Place for (Virtual) Date

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Smingle.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

"All the single ladies!" as Beyonce calls on her song. There is a new virtual dating site called Smingle.com.

I have seen other dating sites (which advertisements are all over Facebook and other known sites like Google) but Smingle is the first of its kind.

Out of curiousity, I have created an account and explored the site. Aside from the usual features such as profile, avatar (you may even upload your own picture if you wish!), games and love match; there is this exciting feature called Virtual Dating where you can create your own 3D self (choose a look which best fit yourself - Asian, African, Caucasian, etc) and choose the best clothes that represent your style (sporty? sexy? nerdy?). What's cool is that the 3D self can flirt with other members and does respond to typed texts.

According to THS Investigates, "Singles can interact in a simulated dating environment online from the comfort of their own home". True enough, this would save us the trouble of the 2-hour preparation on what dress to wear, what shoes to go with it, and what make-up to wear - just to be disappointed with a date who doesn't know how to carry a good conversation and whose sense of style is so out-dated.

Single ladies (and single men) should try the Smingle.com. Upload your best pic (or the sexiest and cutest avatar) and you get membership for 3 months for Free!

Enjoy the (virtual) date!

Bedside Table Book: Bondage by Patti Davis

Out of boredom and lack of social life in the past few weeks, I have decided to scan some books in Book Sale, and decided to buy Bondage by Patti Davis.

The book is enticing and the chapters are engaging.. I have yet to write a review on this one.

Friendgift:The Friendly Gift-Giving Site!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of FriendGiftr. All opinions are 100% mine.

It is nice to receive gift cards and gift certificates for any events that requires gift-giving - Christmas, birthdays, Valentines or even just on a simple day. FriendGiftr is an innovative site which offers gift cards - physical or even digital. What so special is that it even gives the giver/buyer the option to choose from many retailers and stores (hotels are included!).

The denomination are $10, $20, $25, $35, $50, $75, and $100 gift cards. The best part is that receiver has the option to choose or exchange the gift card to the retail store of his/her choice with no additional cost. The worth of the gift card that the receiver has receive can be used to shop from over a hundred merchants. This service gives it a more personalized experience. The $100-worth gift card may even be used for different stores and services.

My favorite store, H&M is included on the merchants list! Yey!

Now I don't have to worry and waste time in the store looking for the best top, or the most funky accessories to a friend; then later I would fear and think if my friend would even appreciate my taste. Not to mention if the clothes fit! All I need to do log in to the FriendGiftr site, choose the denomination and order the gift card.

Go check out the site and shop and splurge!

The site can be accessed through our favorite Facebook, iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android.

Free Php250 Worth Mobile GC from FlapJacks!

Out of curiousity, I checked the FlapJacks online site and check if the form is still working for mobile GC, and it is!

I received a message from FlapJacks (not from any unknown unregistered number) which says:

Thank you for completing ur details here's a 250 GC that u can use at any FLAPJACKS w ur purchase  of 500. Valid til 07/16/2010.

I have registered on 6/16/2010, so that makes the mobile coupon valid for 1 month. The first batch of mobile coupons which were sent out does not require any purchase from the store. But the promo is not quite clear which makes me hate the management. Just the same, thanks for the free mobile GC. I am just not certain if I should go back..

To receive your free mobile GC, please visit the FlapJacks site at www.flapjacks.com.ph and enter your details. The GC would be received immediately after submitting the form.

Always Know Your Billing Due Date to Avoid Finance Charges!

Four months ago, I requested my bank to send me my credit card billing statement through my email address. This way, my mom would not have access to my spending habits. I was thankful that I know my billing due date (always 28th of the month), and I have access to my credit cards online so I have paid my monthly bill on the 27th.

Just this morning I received my Statement of Account through my email which is 7 days after my supposedly due date. Wow, have I not known my billing due date and my monthly credit card charges, I would have then be charged for finance charges/late payments!

I wonder if this how credit card companies make money? Same delayed notice happened when they were still sending the statements at my home address. I had to call the local bank support to inquire about my credit dues and pay for the amount as I was so scared of the 3% finance charge.

Lesson for all. Don't trust your credit card companies. Always monitor your expenses and know your billing due date. Pay on time and in full to avoid those finance charges.
