"All the single ladies!" as Beyonce calls on her song. There is a new virtual dating site called Smingle.com.
I have seen other dating sites (which advertisements are all over Facebook and other known sites like Google) but Smingle is the first of its kind.
Out of curiousity, I have created an account and explored the site. Aside from the usual features such as profile, avatar (you may even upload your own picture if you wish!), games and love match; there is this exciting feature called Virtual Dating where you can create your own 3D self (choose a look which best fit yourself - Asian, African, Caucasian, etc) and choose the best clothes that represent your style (sporty? sexy? nerdy?). What's cool is that the 3D self can flirt with other members and does respond to typed texts.
According to THS Investigates, "Singles can interact in a simulated dating environment online from the comfort of their own home". True enough, this would save us the trouble of the 2-hour preparation on what dress to wear, what shoes to go with it, and what make-up to wear - just to be disappointed with a date who doesn't know how to carry a good conversation and whose sense of style is so out-dated.
