My New Phone is My Phone and It's Mine

Is anyone familiar with My Phone?

I just bought a unit to use as a phone for commuting, and I am quite impressed with its design and features. The phone only costs around $52 (Php2360) and it is a deal since it comes with cool features such as camera, and fm radio. I hope I can post a picture of the phone, but I am too lazy to take shots and upload (which reminds me, I still have a lot of pics to upload).

Good thing I visited the other store, I am quite decided to buy a Philips phone, or a Motorola from Welcom. But my old Motorola is so hard to use. My Phone has the same key features as Nokia. By the way, the unit is called S21 Slyder.

I usually research about items first before making a purchase, but at this point, out of necessity, I just had to hit the mall and buy a unit. Actually, I was too careless to buy a Samsung phone in Ebay, and when the item was delivered, for some reason it is not working. Such a hassle. The seller is claiming it is working perfectly and that the courier must have mishandled the item. Lesson learned. I wouldn't buy another electronic item online.

Anyway, I am trying to search for relevant reviews regarding this unit, but Google only presented me with ads. I guess this would be the first review to be published regarding the My Phone S21 Slyder.

I can't say much at this point. The unit is so light. Might be mistaken as a thousands and thousands worth. The graphics and animation are good (check out the location clock - comes with a world map). And the camera can take good pictures.

I might rant and rave regarding this unit soon.. and I hope that would be a good review. I never want my money to go to the nearest service center..

Scrubs - I do want Scrubs!

"I don't want no scrub.. A scrub is a guy who can get no love from me.." I'm not sure if I got the lyrics right from TLC's hit song of the past. But I know I got the right site dedicated to a profession which overflows with TLC (tender loving care). Yes, I'm talking about nurses (and caregivers) with their crisp white uniform and clean nurse cap.

I am probably one of the few kids who never dreamed of being a nurse. The sight of blood scares me. Syringe makes me weak. But checking out this site - Scrubs, named after the new nursing uniform made me appreciate the profession more. True to its inspiration, the Scrub site is like a fusion of passion and fashion for nursing. I hope there is such as entertaining, fun and informative website for my profession.

The website is not the typical medical site. Do not expect medicine advertisements flagged on its sides. Think twice. You are not visiting a fashion website. It is full of interesting articles from beauty tips, fashionable buys to practical tips of balancing life and money management.

There is also a fun section such as this celebrity poll. The poll asked about the favorite fictional portrayal of the nurse. My pick Carol Hathaway (for ER) has the greatest share. Who can forget ER? Even before Greys Anatomy hit the TV ratings, ER showed us the stories behind the hospital doors.

The Tip Jar is a must visit section. There are so many "how-to's" and "how-to-deal-with's" that are so useful to all professionals, and applicable to all fields. I dropped a tip on the How to Deal with a Cussing Coworker. I picked it because I believe this type of coworker is present in every workplace. Hospital or not.

This site is just fab, whether you are a nurse or planning to pursue a nursing career (or even you are just taking care of your elders). Better add it to your Favorites!

Love Haves? Take the Survey!

I am still amazed at the Havaianas craze that struck Manila. I remember the first time I came across the brand, back in 2000. The elite groups are raving about these slippers which are actually first sold on the sidewalks of Brazil. I remember that a
PEX member once entertained requests to buy Havaianas whenever she would travel to Brazil. And this is just one of the ways then to get a pair of the much-loved slippers. Lucky if you have relatives and friends in US and other parts of the world
who would be more than happy to send you a pair. Funny thought that these slippers are actually sold in malls here in Manila, and it is not an exageration to say that All Flip Flops (store which sells Havaianas) actually have bouncers on their
stores, especially during peak season (big example, Christmas! - Havaianas is the favorite gifts to your sister, brother, little kids, and inaanaks (godchildren)). My sister even proposed a business to supply Havaianas because her friend supplies stocks to Rustan's. I hate to disappoint her, but her proposal was a little too late. Too late that even underground businesses came up with their own Havanas, and Havaiana.

I am personally not a fan of Havainas or Haves (as people call the brand). I must agree that the item is of good quality. Each pair is comfy and does not give you that "sticky" feeling even if your feet are exposed. Maybe I am not just a flip flop fan.

For those who might want a discount, you may want to take this Havaianas Survey. It might take 5 minutes (just a warning). But you will receive a P100 discount text coupon to use on your next Haves purchase.

Enjoy! Spread the love, spread the word.

Thank God There is T.G.I.Friday's Kiddie League!

TGIF reminds me of my wild college years. My ladies and posse love every TGIF's branch. I could say this is our favorite place to hang out. I so miss the old store in EL Pueblo.. This is where we hone our talent in smoking, where we mastered the art of flirting (haha) and where we introduced alcohol in our system. I remember one time, we went straight to the bar from school in our uniform, and the bartender refuses to serve us alcohol. But thanks to the Long Island Iced Tea - the tom collins glass conceals the amount of alcohol we had consumed that night.

It saddens me to know some of the old TGIF stores had closed out, but TGIF will always be TGIF. I even once dreamt of working as a bartender for this bar. I always thought the work is so glamorous. Silly!

Now TGIF is back on top of its game. TGIF Trinoma is offering a TGIFriday's Kiddie League. Kids ages 5-12 years old, drag your parents to TGIF Trinoma. With P500 membership fee, kids will get:

- membership card
- personalized mug and loot bag
- free kiddie meal and drink every visit to TGIF Trinoma all year round
- a FREE school birthday party package good for 30 kids within Quezon City with P1,000 worth of accumulated receipts

This sounds like fun! I wish I were younger, or probably have a kid of my own, or better yet have my nephew and nieces here in Manila.

Need more info? Call TGIF Trinoma:

T.G.I. Friday’s Trinoma
Level M4, Trinoma, North Avenue cor. EDSA, Quezon City.
Tel # 943-2163

Hope kids would also get those fun dorky hats!

Vacation Bummers

With all the flights and hotel rates dropping low, I can just dream of a nice vacation on my two piece and a glass of cold buko juice while enjoying the sun, the sand and the scene. But I can just dream..

Who is not scared of the Swine Flu?! I wish and pray that a cure would be discovered for this dreaded disease. More than the riots and wars in Thailand, this air borne flu would make you think twice of booking a flight. And even if I am thinking of just exploring the nice beaches and places in the country, the weather is more often uncooperative. I wouldnt want to get stranded in a deserted island, or even worry about delayed flights.

And the biggest antagonist of it all, is your Vacation Leave availability.

Sometimes, it is even nicer to stay at home, and enjoy a good book in your room.

Tip, check out Cebu Pacific for low airfare rates. For those who are BDO Gold Card holders, BDO just sent a booklet with listings of its partner hotels and resorts. The discounts and freebies are just so tempting!

We still have a month to enjoy summer!

AMI ClubWear: A Store to Shop for Your Summer Must-Haves!

The first time I opened the website and saw the lovely ladies on the opening webpage, I already felt my heartbeat! The left navigation bar lists all the girls' must-haves: summer dress, sexy clothes, intimates, shoes, swimwear, accessories, cosmetics, everything! I cannot even decide where to point my mouse first to explore the site! Being the girl that I am, I first clicked the Dresses section, and i love everything I saw on my screen! I felt like clicking and adding everything in to the shopping basket. The Intimates section is a threat to Victoria Secret and La Perla! No kidding! The collections have character; and the intimates would give ladies the character they desire: fiercey, tweetums, or irresistable goddess. Then of course, the Costume section is a must visit! I personally love the Goddess of Love Costume!

More than the fab offerings and best buys (I forgot to mention that the prices are so reasonable, mostly around $20!), the site is so neat and easy to the eyes! The site is like a candy store! Indeed, with its nice layout and pink color! I am eyeing a few items (but mostly out of stock!) and I am so ready to order. Thanks to the advancement of technology, AMI ClubWear accepts Paypal payments. I don't really care about the shipping, since I have alot of friends in U.S.; and shipping from U.S. to Manila is not such a big hassle anymore (they can easily pack the stuff in their baggages).

With summer vacation all planned out, I need to plan my wardrobe as well. This cute dress is just one of the nice buys I saw online.

Fashionistas would agree with me that this summer dress is a must-bring to any beach destination. I always go for comfy clothes, and ones which do not need ironing. This would make a good cover-up for a sexy swimwear; and a nice dress-to-impress piece for a dinner date or a night out at a beach. I am already imagining myself in this dress with Pina Colada on hand and friends in tow, enjoying the view and scenes of CamSur.

Its color (gray) is a contrast to the usual summer colors of orange, green and yellow; and that makes it more special. And being a fashion experimental that I am, I wouldn't mind wearing it in the office with a nice shrug or cardigan. ;)

The selection is endless.. I am actually looking at the Boots collection now. This one is a bomb!

Too bad, size 10 is no longer available!

This corset is something I have been looking for! This is just fab!

Girls, better check out the site and drool over to the nice stuff before AMI ClubWear flags the "out of stock" sign! And better prepare your credit card, you can't close the browser window without ordering some stuff! ;)

Cutest Commercial: Bulilit Camella Homes Commercial

I rarely watch TV, even during weekends (that explains why we dont have cable subscription, but justifies the DSL line). But last weekend I chanced upon this really cute Bulilit commercial for a housing property (Camella Homes - and I hope I will get paid for this advertisment!), and I totally fell inlove with the ad! I actually was able to catch the last part of the commercial, and I just cant help but say "cuuutte!!".

I felt stupid yesterday watching and waiting for that commercial, and I am so happy to know that it is already uploaded in You Tube (I loove technology!). I love it, and so do my parents! I am actually surprised to see comments of praises for this commercial! Haha.

Here is the ad I am raving about..

Isn't it cute? That cute little girl reminds me of my niece! I love the concept, the jingle, the emotions, the casting and the shots! What is so amazing is that it is not more than 1 minute long! The jingle is so catchy, and I am actually having a Last Song Syndrome..

"bulilit.. bulilit.. ang liit, liit.."

Haha.

I am not surprise if "bulilit" would receive millions of clicks and searches from Google. Out of curiousity, I googled it, and it landed me to list of blogs talking about the Bulilit Commercial.

Wow, seems that Camella Homes has regained its popularity. I remember when I was a kid, my family also hoped for a Camella home. And I wouldnt be surprised that this kid would be the next big child star (does anyone remember, Serena? the "isa pa, isa pang chicken joy" kid). I heard that this cute kiddo is a Going Bulilit (gag show) child star.

I love to have this video on my blog! I can watch it over and over again, without killing myself with sick tv shows just to catch it on tube.
